Do you ever find it challenging to stay focused and moving on the path to creating a happy, healthy, prosperous life? Maybe you know how to live a happy life, but do you have the spiritual practices in place that will keep you on track?
And I’m sure you intend to stay focused on how you’d like your life to be, but the challenge is that life is noisy and full of delightful distractions, and they can crush your ability to stay on course.
With so much vying for your attention, no wonder you get distracted.
The problem is that your attention acts like a lightning rod attracting either the happy, healthy, prosperous life you seek or more distractions and noise.
Everything depends on you and what you pay attention to. And if you’re not sure where your attention has been lately, look around at the results in your life.
- Have you accomplished what you set out to or not?
- Are you happy, or could you be happier?
- How is your health? Is it where you’d like it to be or not?
- Are you as successful as you want to be or not?
If you don’t like what you see, and you’ve been looking for ways to keep your attention on the life you’d like to live. Look no further.
How to Live a Happy Life: 3 unusual spiritual practices to create the life you envision
1. Releasing your blocks
One of the biggest challenges many of us face, are blocks that prevent us from living a happy life. Luckily, there’s a formula for releasing the blocks that hold you back. Blocks to health, happiness, financial success, or fear of anything.
This formula was discovered back in the fifties by a physicist and engineer called Lester Levenson after he was given only three months to live.
Through trial and error, he said he had discovered a secret to experiencing health, happiness, success, and profound peace, regardless of outer circumstances. He called it the Releasing Technique.
He healed his body and lived a long, happy, healthy, successful life using this technique.
It’s so simple you might not believe that it works, but I’ve used it for the most difficult challenges and blocks and can tell you hand on heart, it works if you work it!
Quick and easy releasing technique
1. Start by checking in with yourself and see where you are on a scale of 1- 10 with whatever you want to release. Be it fear, anxiety, anger, blocks to money, love, health, or anything else.
2. Place your hand over your stomach and ask yourself out loud, “Am I willing to release….” Whatever it might be, anxiety, fear, anger, blocks to money, love, health, anything. And you must answer, “Yes.” And no, you don’t have to believe it, you must simply say the word.
3. Ask the question again and again and again, answering yes each time.
4. Once you feel a real release or you find yourself laughing (another sign of release), you’re done for that session.
5. Check-in with yourself and see on a scale of 1 to 10 where you are. If you haven’t changed the scale much, do it again. Otherwise, come back to it later until you reach a point of having released enough to be comfortable with whatever your challenge was.
Trust me. It works like a charm.

2. Spiritual practicality for health
We’re all aware that one of the most essential elements of staying healthy is a good night’s sleep. What you might not know is that your sleep position can have a significant influence on your health.
Ayurveda, which has its roots in the sacred texts of India, from which most spiritual practices and philosophies have sprung, tells us that the position we sleep in has an incredibly powerful impact on our health and wellbeing.
It turns out that it matters which side you sleep on much more than you might think.
Ayurveda recommends sleeping on the left side for optimal health and wellbeing because it supports better digestion, helps circulation back to the heart, and facilitates better lymphatic drainage.
Truth be told, as someone who’s had plenty of digestive problems in my lifetime, when I first started to sleep on my left (as much as possible), the difference was astounding. I discovered digestive problems improving, awoke feeling more rested, and with a greater sense of wellbeing.
I highly recommend you give it a try. It’s a practice that you might not consider spiritual, but the provenance of Ayurveda would suggest otherwise.
3. Review and Rewrite
This technique is a form of spiritual intervention.
If the energy from your past isn’t reconstructed, isn’t transformed into something different, it advances into your future to confront you over and over again…which is why we have so many similar experiences and meet the same kinds of people.
That’s not acceptable for you, dear ones. You are designed for greatness, intended to live a happy and beautiful life; this simple technique can help you make that happen.
Each evening, review your day. Don’t judge, just review. Think over all the events, circumstances, conversations, or meetings. And any that don’t conform with the way you would wish them to turn out, change them.
Look at your day scene by scene, and those that don’t please you or feel right, rewrite them in your imagination. Make them conform to the ideal experience you wish you’d had.
Do it over and over in your imagination until these seemingly imaginal experiences take on the feeling of reality.
For example, say you had an argument with someone earlier in the day, and you still feel hurt or angry or upset. You can revise that experience by imagining something different. Maybe you could turn it into a discussion with that person where you might not have agreed, but you pleasantly both agreed to disagree.
It doesn’t mean that you’re changing the actual experience, but you are changing the energy of the experience.
You are reconstructing your past with new energetic content. You are assisting your life to move into a new future
These rewritten days really will change your tomorrows.
Spiritually Speaking
You were designed to light up the world. There’s no one quite like you on the planet. You are uniquely amazingly you and were born on purpose to live out that purpose.
So the question now is, are you willing to tap into the spiritual, creative power which flows to you and through you and live the happy, great life you were designed for?
The idea here isn’t to add more spiritual practices to your already busy schedule but to find something easy to do and fosters your happiness, health, and success. May you be blessed with them all.
Encourage one another.
